The following webinar, 1 Million Measurements & 4 Points of View: How the sMap3D Reshaped My Care, was first presented at Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS).
In Part 2 of the recent webinar, 1 Million Measurement & 4 Points of View: How the sMap3D Reshaped My Care, Stephanie Woo OD, FAAO, FSLS at Contact Lens Institute of Nevada shares how the sMap3D changed her scleral lens practice.
Dr. Woo discusses:
- Her scleral fitting patient population in terms of spherical/toric haptic use.
- Recent case reports illustrating how the sMap3D data was utilized to decide between a Europa or Latitude lens design.
- Her experience with daily logistics and communication with the sMap3D Consultation Team.
- How she educates patients on the Europa vs Latitude designs.
Dr. Woo provides insight into how she has developed successful specialty lens practices and how the sMap3D has played a role in her recent success. She has recently sold her private practices in Arizona and newly opened a specialty lens focused clinic, Contact Lens Institute of Nevada. She has been able to utilize her sMap3D to the highest level in the new practice.
Dr. Woo had heard about the sMap3D technology from its inception. She found it interesting, however, as an experienced, efficient fitter, she didn’t find it necessary to invest in an instrument to help her, especially because of her high success rate. Then, what happened over time, is that she started seeing more and more of the experts in the field getting scleral topography measurement tools. Why was that and what was she missing?
