Jasmine Santana is an integral part of the team at Visionary Optics. As a Scleral Lens Consultant, she assists ODs and their staff and plays an important role in their patient’s scleral lens success. Jasmine has a background in customer support and enjoys taking great care of our customers.
Q&A with Scleral Lens Consultant Jasmine Santana
What are your favorite parts of being a Scleral Lens Consultant?
Visionary Optics prides itself on incredible customer service and innovation. We know that when it comes to scleral lens fitting, every practice and eye care practitioner is different which is why we make a conscious effort to be a different kind of scleral lens company. Throughout my time at Visionary Optics, I see this in how we work with our ODs every day. Even if we are making small adjustments to a lens, I know that it can truly transform the comfort for our OD’s patients and genuinely improve their quality of life. Nothing makes me happier than knowing a patient is happy with a lens because I know I played a small role in helping them achieve a more comfortable fit.
We would love to learn more about a typical workday as a Consultant at Visionary Optics, can you describe it?
Most of my day is spent on the phone with our ODs helping them with patient fits. What I love most about my day is that I’ve built such great relationships with them that I call most friends!
When I’m on the phone with our ODs, I will help them with new fittings for the Europa Tangent and Latitude lenses and help them figure out which lens will work best for them and their patients.
How does your previous work experience help you in your role?
In my previous role, I worked at a private optometry practice which helped me understand the ins-and-outs of working with ODs. During my time there, I took on tasks such as pre-testing with ODs and working with patients and technicians to order lenses. Because of this experience, I have a better understanding of how to work with ODs to get the best possible fit for their patients.
Visionary Optics is known for its customer service, what do you think VO does differently?
At Visionary Optics, we focus on creating genuine connections with our ODs. We help our eye care practitioners solve any issues that arise, but we also know that the small details matter. It’s extremely common for our team to remember our customers’ birthdays, anniversaries, or personal relationships like pets or kids. We pride ourselves on being more than a scleral lens manufacturer; we’re a true partner and advisor to our ODs.
Can you share how you use scleral expertise to help our customers?
Since working at Visionary Optics, my scleral lens expertise has expanded significantly thanks to the incredible team we have here and the valuable relationships we have with our ODs. Working so closely with our eye care practitioners, I have a better understanding of their mindset and the common issues they face. Because of this, I’m able to proactively address common concerns or troubleshooting issues.
