At this year’s Global Specialty Lens Symposium, Dr. Brandon Le presented his poster, “Filamentary Keratitis & Sjögren’s Management with Scleral Lenses.” A 44-year-old female with a history of secondary Sjögren’s syndrome presented in his clinic with constant pain, photophobia, and severe dryness. He observed filamentary keratitis while she was on maximum medical therapy. Watch the video below to see how Europa Tangent scleral lenses were used in his case.
Dr. Brandon Le is currently serving as the Clinical Teaching Fellow with the City of Houston Health Department and University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO). He received his optometry degree from UHCO in May 2023. His optometric interests include community health and eyecare for underserved populations, specialty lenses, pediatric eyecare, and ocular pathology. Much of his time as a fellow is dedicated as a clinical instructor for 2nd and 3rd year optometry students, as well as working with See to Succeed, a City of Houston safety net program to provide free eye exams and glasses for school-aged children in the Greater Houston Area.
